Saudi Swimming Pool Humor

These are from the Toy's R Us in Dhahran. They have all the swimming pools for sale and the ladies are blacked out. I guess they are putting the abaya on them. :)

Watermelons Galore

They grow watermelons here which are fantastic! They have trucks full of them on the corners where you can stop and pick them up. They are not a dark green outside but the inside is bright red and very juicy.

Loving the King!

I should of put this up sooner but the king arrived back in Kingdom the people here have shown an out pouring of support for him.   There are signs and bill boards all over with his picture on them.  The Saudi flag (green with the sword on the bottom) is hung everywhere. They love the king here!

No Hukkas

Found this sign on the camp that I hadn't seen before and thought was cute.  No hukka smoking in the gazebos!

Ringo

We have a wild Ring Necked Parakeet which is part of the parrot family that comes every day.  This one is a male.  They have the ring around the neck the females do not. We are really enjoying watching him!

Juaymah AFTC

Juaymah Advanced Fire Training Center is a facility that trains people who to fight fires.  It trains about 30,000 people a year.  It is equipped to simulate a tanker fire, refinery fire and more.  It is a very nice facility!

Inside the ship

The wait...

Traffic here is an adventure.  They may have lines on the roads and signs but they don't follow them.  It is interesting to watch.  How there are not more wrecks is beyond me.  One of the other frustrations are how long the lights are.  They have timers on them to let you know when they are going to change.  This one started at 160.  Then the green light was only green for 35 seconds.  It also has a timer on it to let you know when it will end.  Bring a book to read between lights.  If you hit one red one you will hit them all!

Yacht Club

These are from the Half Moon Beach Yacht Club.  They are from the larger boats and power boats side.  This is a really nice beach which also has a restaurant at it.
