This is a typical semi permanent bedouin camp other then the bedouin mobile home.

While out in the desert along came some camels.  They have one guy on a camel leading the herd along. The man stopped to talk to us and let us sit on the one he was riding.  Very nice man!

While out in the desert we came upon a fallen camel.  While disgusting on one hand it was somewhat cool to see the bones so polished white laying on the desert floor.  

 

 

 

 

Hofuf Camel Market

The Hofuf camel market is one of the larger ones in Saudi Arabia.  It has camels, sheep, goats, and more.  It is a nice market and very active.

This is a 3 day old baby camel.

Off Roading

Driving the dunes in a 4x4 vehicle is a favorite past time of many here.  Once out in the desert you are sure to encounter at least a few camels which are always fun to see.

Ras Tanura 'Id Al-Fitr

Ras Tanura also had an Eid celebration.  They only had one night of celebrations and in my opinion it was nicer.    They had most of the same things as Dhahran but they also had live entertainment and the highlight was camel rides!!!  Plus the lines for the kids activities were significantly shorter!!!  It was a wonderful evening!

Camel Market

This is where they sale the camels.  This big camel is the male that fathered the others.

These camels are worth 150,000 SR or about $40,000 because of their long faces.  They are not ones that you would eat.  They are a pleasure camel.

Nariya

These are pictures from our trip to Nariya. This is where a lot of the Bedouin or nomadic people live.

Tents & Camels

We have been told multiple times the Saudi's like to camp.  What we don't get is why they choose to do so next to the freeways.  We see tents quite a bit in some really random places.
