The American run elementary school at Dhahran compound is Dhahran Hills. It services K-5. The school starts at 7:40 and ends at 3. Kindergarten gets out at 10:45 for lunch and 1st-5th get out at 11:30. They all return from lunch at 12:30. So Kindergarten has a 2 hour lunch and everyone else has an hour that they go home. It is a wonderful school!

What can you tell me about the principal at Dhahran Hills Michael Smith? Do you know any background on him or his philosophy of running the school?
ReplyDeleteSorry but I don't think that a public forum is the place to answer that question. I will say that we love the school and are very happy with them!
ReplyDeleteare Saudi children allowed in the school if both parents are from Saudi Arabia? if there not allowed then why not?
ReplyDeleteThey are through kindergarten if they live on camp. Once they enter first grade they have to attend Saudi Schools. It is a Saudi rule. I believe it has to do with the fact that this school is a US based curriculum.
Deleteis there anyway i can get my choldren in this school if there all from saudi arabia and both parents are from here too? there english is amazing!
ReplyDeleteThe school is only for Aramco employees who live in Dhahran camp. It is not open to Saudi kids per Saudi law. Sorry
Deletei live in the camp so can they get in?
ReplyDeleteYou would need to contact the school. My understanding is that Saudi's are not allowed to attend from first grade on due to Saudi law. The school could verify that for you, just go into the front office and ask.
DeleteAre other nationalities accepted if they dont live in the camp.
DeleteNo only camp residents.
DeleteI am about to relocate to Saudia with my Family we will reside in Dahran Camp, can u send my the contact numbers for this school to check the availability f or the next year for my kids. Is there any priority for American expat? Thanks
ReplyDeleteASC will handle the school for you. There is no priority given. If you are put on Rakkah or Dhahran camp then they will go to the schools on Dhahan unless there are learning issues that the school feels it can't deal with.
Deletewe are in KFUPM campus..can they get in ??
ReplyDeleteNo the school is only for Aramco expatriate employees who live in Dhahran or Rakkah.
ReplyDeleteI live on camp and I'd be really interested in acquiring a job here, whom could I contact about this sort of thing?
ReplyDeleteI would go talk to them in the front office.
DeleteHi, and thank you for a wonderful blog! We are about to accept an offer and will be living in the Ar-Rakah camp. We have a 4-year-old and an 18-month-old, and hope to have one more within the year. My question is how do mother's balance having a toddler at home and a kindergartner at the Dhahran camp? This will be my case next year when my oldest turns five. Is there a mom's group that meets for the two-hour lunch so that the toddlers can play together? Then once my toddler turns three and begins school within the Ar-Rakah camp, how would I manage all of the simultaneous drop-offs, pick-ups and two-hour lunches but from two separate campuses? Thank you so much for all of the wonderful help you provide here. I've been staying up very late each night reading through it all! : )
ReplyDeleteSend me your email. Will not publish.
DeleteCan homeschoolers living in dharan camp use library ?
ReplyDeleteNo they can use the Dhahran recreational library located near the bowling ally.
Deleteif one of the parent is from saudi and the other from the US can the kids get in the school till high school ?
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteWeird question, but I went to DHE in 90's and wanted to know who I can get in contact with regarding a picture that they had of me, in the entry way of the school. I wanted to know if there was a way I could have that picture sent (it was a nice profession blown up picture) to me if there was no use to it, or if they archived it?
Send me an email address as a comment I won't publish it but can send you info that way.
DeleteI am an Aramco employee on assignment in the US. My family and I are moving back to the dhahran camp in July. I would like my now 3-year-old son (will be 4 and a half in Aug 2017) to enroll in one of the Aramco schools on camp.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the admission process? and how much is the tuition for kindergarten?
The school is only for expats in the Dhahran camp. There is no cost. You will just need to come into the school once here and enroll them.
